This partnership between Channel [V], Apple iTunes and Nova Radio leveraged the collective strengths of our businesses platforms and brands.
We at Channel [V] developed the concept of a live music studio concert series featuring live performances from the biggest Australian and international artists performing in front of an intimate selection of invited uber-fans.
The series were simulcast with our radio partner and then exclusively available for download through the Apple iTunes platform.
This was a TV Broadcast first for the international Apple iTunes platform. This series of concerts also broke new ground for Apple, by adding exclusive live recordings to their music download platform. These recordings we available to purchase within hours of filming.
Proactive database targeting allowed us to email past-buyers for each artists’ music with an introduction to the Playroom event and to encourage sales.
Our JV partners were so thrilled with the outcome of this collaboration that the US president of Apple iTunes noted that this was the best partnership execution iTunes had done to date.
